How do I Register as An ARK Delegate?

  • Author,

Why should I register a Delegate*? By registering a delegate name you can enter this information into an ARK Forging node installation and enable that node plus your account to Forge New ARK Tokens! (think of it like mining Bitcoins!) *note that this is currently still on TESTNET and not on MAINNET, although process will be the same!

Registration Fee: 25 ARK for delegate name registration

Download latest ARK desktop client for your OS from :

Unpack, install and start Ark Client:

Now you have 3 options on how you can register a delegate :

    1. Click on address that already has at least 25 ARK Tokens in the wallet and then you will want it associated with your delegate name (else you will first need to send 25 ARK from another account). 2. Import your account that is not yet on your wallet list and holds at least 25 ARK (else you will first need to receive 25 ARK from another account). 3. Create new account for your delegate and send it 25 ARK for the delegate registration fee.

Now that you are in your account:

    1. Again make sure your wallet address holds at least 25 ARK Tokens  2. Click on icon with 3 vertical dots

Background will fade a bit and a small menu will popup in lower center of the client:

    1. Click on register delegate 2. Choose your desired delegate name — it should be a unique name (not yet registered) and consists of a maximum of 20 characters. You can only use lowercase letters, numbers and these special characters [email protected]$&_. 3. Provide the passphrase(secret key) of the ARK wallet you are registering your delegate with 4. Once done click on next

    A popup will show:

    1. Click on “SEND 25 ARK NOW!” — that will initiate the transaction and register your delegate.

You will get a message if successful in the lower left corner:

    • All done — now you have your own delegate registered! Don’t forget to
save your passphrase of all your ARK wallets that hold your ARK Tokens— if you lose it or it gets stolen there is nothing we can do!
